A Double Shot of Euphonium!!!
Jason's busy April formally gets its start on April 5th with an exciting euphonium recital at St. John's Episcopal Church in Cornwall, NY. Jason will be joined on piano by Ruthanne Schempf, with musical selections being from the upcoming tour that they will take April 13-20 to Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois. The concert will begin at 7:30pm, with a light reception to follow.

Just three days later, on April 8th, Jason will present his first faculty recital on April 8th in McEachern Recital Hall at Montclair State University. Debuting in full recital with Jason will be Ron Levy, a fantastic pianist from Teaneck, NJ. Ron and Jason are collaborating to produce a recording in 2008, and the music will include selections from that project.

Be sure to check out both of these events if you are near the tri-state area!

A new major commission - New News!
The contract has been finalized, and Jason is on the hunt for consortium members to join him in the commissioning of Johan de Meij's new work for euphonium and wind orchestra. While this process will take some time, Jason is happy to announce that the lead consortium member will be the Peabody Conservatory, with Dr. Harlan Parker at the helm. Jason looks forward to a trip to Baltimore in 2010 to work both with Dr. Parker and the wonderful students at Peabody!

Solo CD taking shape
Jason is currently meeting with pianist Ron Levy about an upcoming solo euphonium and piano CD. While much of the repertoire has been selected, finding the time to record has been a challenge. Expected recording time is September, 2008, with a release in early 2009.

Jason now on faculty at Montclair State University
Jason has joined the faculty of Montclair State University for the spring semester, 2008 while Dr. Mary Ann Craig is on sabbatical leave.
